City Budget Proposal Out Now

The council meeting to set the budget takes place on Thursday.

The coalition have now outlined their proposition that will be voted on.  Details are on the web site  – attached for information.  In short the headlines in terms of the concerns that we got from our community consultation exercise: – first the good news:

It looks like Edinburgh Leisure facilities will not close – though the language is clever “working with EL to ensure they remain open  BUT

Public toilets (outside the centre) are still under threat – working with Lothian buses to keep facilities open-thus Granton Square toilets could be saved – but be under the watch of Lothian Buses (unclear)

Sports pitch – no white lines – no mention
No Grass cutting in public areas – no mention
Granton Library hours cut  – no mention
Subsidised bus routes cut  – no mention
We will seek clarification from Forth councillors on the ‘missing data’.
