Granton & District Community Council – Massive Consultation
The volunteers of Granton and District Community Council tonight (Monday 24 November)announced a massive local consultation across their community in response to the current City Council budget plans.
Chairman Fred Marinello stated:
“Its all very well the council inviting people to go ‘on line’ and play at being a banker or financier. Many of the people in our community can’t afford expensive technology and some – particularly the elderly don’t want to use it. That is why we are having a day long ‘drop in’ day – plus a dedicated telephone contact so that they can tell or text us what they think. This is an inclusive approach – and what we are all about”.
The volunteers are going to go door to door across the community to advertise the event and the contact details.
Community Council volunteers will be at Royston & Wardieburn Community Centre from 10am – 7pm on Tuesday 9 December. People will be able to put their views on the budget cuts and these will be forwarded in bulk to the council. Telephone ‘hot line’ for comments 07973321970
